The 325th Security Forces Squadron and Balfour Beatty Communities are scheduled to host their free annual National Night Out from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 3, 2017, at the Balfour Beatty Community Center.

The event will provide free food, music, and fun educational opportunities for Airmen and their families.

The program is designed to strengthen community partnerships and generate support and participation for anti-crime and drug prevention, said Staff Sgt. Kelsey Bauers, 325th Security Forces Squadron Community Police assistant NCO in charge.

Other free activities planned for the night include a K-9 demonstration, face painting, bounce houses, and multiple booths with community and base information regarding crime prevention and safety.

“National Night Out is dedicated to the development and promotion of various crime prevention programs including law enforcement agencies, state and regional crime prevention associations, businesses, civic groups and individuals, devoted to safer communities,” Bauers said. “The nation’s premiere crime prevention network works with law enforcement officials and civilian leaders to keep crime-watch volunteers informed, interested, involved and motivated.”

For more information about the event, contact Balfour Beatty at (850) 286-1700 or the Community Police at (850) 890-6273.

“While one night is certainly not an answer to crime, drugs and violence, National Night Out represents the kind of spirit, energy and determination to help make neighborhoods a safer place year-round,” Bauers added.
