6/27/2012 - Students from class 12-5 at the Paul Airey Noncommissioned Officer Academy volunteered at the grand opening of the Bay County Veteran’s Center Saturday. The students helped set-up and tear down for the ceremony, escorted VIPs, directed traffic, assisted with seating, helped at the refreshment tables and passed out brochures. “We were happy to come out and help,” said Tech. Sgt. Raul Torres, a student at the Academy. “We wanted to help spread the word and support the new center.” The new center will feature counseling services for veterans returning from combat, or for their family members, free of charge. Additionally, they will offer services for all sexual assault-related incidents that happened while veterans were on active duty. (U.S. Air Force photo by 2nd Lt. Andrea Valencia)
