The 325th Medical Group hosted a medical provider collaboration event Nov. 16, 2017, in an effort to further build the relationships between community providers and Tyndall’s own military treatment facility providers.

The collaboration delivered the MTF providers and the community providers a setting for professional discussion to increase the flow of information about procedures, services and patient care.

“There is currently a good relationship with our community partners, but we can always work to improve that relationship and the flow of information,” said Maj. Laura Wolfe, 325th MDG pediatric physician. “It can be very difficult working in a military facility due to the turnover of providers. Events like this help bridge that gap.”

The event included demonstrations by the 325th Security Forces Squadron military working dogs and the 325th Civil Engineer Squadron Explosive Ordnance Disposal team. This event was designed to share ideas across the patient care spectrum while sharing Tyndall’s mission with the local providers.

“New providers can be introduced to community providers, learn of available services, and develop a relationship with providers that we rely on to offer a full scope of specialty services for our patients,” Wolfe added.

According to its factsheet, the 325th MDG staff operates as an outpatient medical facility with family practice, pediatrics, dental, flight medicine and women's health clinics. Working together with local community practitioners, helps provide all the necessary specialties needed by patients.

“This type of collaboration lets us tell the community providers what we offer our patients at the 325thMDG,” Wolfe said. “We were able to talk about the goal of trusted care for our patients, and express that we are thankful for their care that enables us to keep our patients healthy and the mission moving forward.

“Strengthening local partnerships with the health care community provides improved care for our Airmen and their families,” Wolfe concluded.
