Team Tyndall,

As we approach the 2011 Holiday season, Kim and I want to personally wish all of you happy holidays! It is a time to count our many blessings ... our families, friends and loved ones ... our freedom and our way of life in the United States of America.

This past year has been one of great accomplishment for Team Tyndall. We exceeded every challenge thrown our way. The next year will be equally if not more challenging, as we bring a new mission to Tyndall Air Force Base in the form of an operational F-22 squadron. All told, we expect to grow by nearly 1,000 people over the next few years. It will be an extremely busy but exciting time.

Many of us are blessed to be able to spend this holiday season with family and friends, but be mindful that many of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines will be deployed far from home making sacrifices to protect the freedoms we hold so dearly. Let's keep our deployed teammates and their families in our thoughts and prayers as they spend this holiday apart from their loved ones. We look forward to their safe return.

I also look forward to the safe return of each of YOU, so please be safety conscious during your holiday activities. Plan ahead to ensure you have a safe way home from your holiday parties, or travels back from planned leave outside the local area; use the Wingman concept, and if called upon, be a good Wingman!

Each of you is a vital member of the Tyndall team and each of you has a stake in making our way of life possible by securing our future while defending our country.

Kim and I are both extremely proud to serve with the world's greatest Airmen and Team Tyndall!

Happy Holidays!
