Balfour Beatty Communities partners with TerraCycle Published Sept. 16, 2013 By Staff Reports Balfour Beatty Communities TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Balfour Beatty Communities partnered with TerraCycle, a program that brings communities together to help build a sustainable future through: upcycling, recycling and donation efforts. Tyndall provides recycling for 1 and 2 plastics, newspaper, cardboard, aluminum, etc. Consumers can help eliminate overflowing landfills by collecting normally hard-to-recycle products and packaging. Products that are made from upcycled or recycled materials include park benches, hand bags and backpacks, gardening supplies, office supplies and even toys. Current Brigades include: · Personal Care and Beauty Brigade · Solo Cup Brigade, Dairy Tub Brigade · Cell Phone Brigade, Miscellaneous E-Waste Brigade · Inkjet and Toner Cartridge Brigade · Keyboard and Mouse Brigade · Laptop, Tablet and E-Reader Brigade For each unit item collected, a donation is made to Tyndall Elementary School. To date, Balfour Beatty Communities has collected hard to recycle waste and is working toward its goal of making a $300 donation to Tyndall Elementary School by December 2013, which is not bad for just collecting trash! In order to make sizeable donations to Tyndall Elementary School, Balfour Beatty Communities would like to reach out to Tyndall AFB commanders to set up drop off points within their squadrons. "We make it so simple. We even pick up donations right from the consumer's front door," said Christy Lingenfelter, Balfour Beatty Communities LifeWorks coordinator. For more information about acceptable waste for each brigade go to www.terracycle.com or contact Balfour Beatty Communities at (850) 286-1700.
