TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE SECURITY INCIDENT

1/21/2012 - TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Special security controls implemented this morning have been lifted.

Entry control gates on the south side of the base were closed approximately for two hours. The lockdown was in response to a domestic disturbance in base housing.

As security forces were responding, an armed individual fled the scene into the surrounding woods.

The individual has been apprehended and the base has returned to normal operations.

An investigation is on going and no further details will be released at this time.
