COLONEL MARK L. O'LAUGHLIN

Colonel Mark L. O'Laughlin is the Vice Commander, 325th Fighter Wing, Air Combat Command, Tyndall AFB, Fla. The 325th Fighter Wing consists of more than 4,000 personnel who train F-22 pilots, intelligence officers, maintainers, and other support specialties for worldwide assignment to combat air force units. The 325th Fighter Wing is also host to 1st Air Force (AFNORTH), 601st Air Operations Center, 53d Weapons Evaluation Group, AFCEC, AFRL, and Silver Flag. The wing provides support to more than 23,000 Airmen.

Colonel O'Laughlin was born in Arcadia, Calif., and entered the Air Force through the San Diego State University AFROTC Class of 1990. He was a distinguished graduate from Euro NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, T-37 Pilot Instructor Training, Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, F-15C Replacement Training Unit at Tyndall and Squadron Officers School at Maxwell Air Force Base, Ala.

Colonel O'Laughlin has served as an F-15 instructor pilot, flight examiner, operations officer and squadron commander. Before assuming the job of the 325th Fighter Wing vice commander, he was the 18th Operations Group deputy commander at Kadena Air Base, Japan. Colonel O'Laughlin is a command pilot with more than 3,000 flying hours and 186 combat hours.
