TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 325th Medical Group is offering school and sports physicals to help families prepare for the upcoming school year.
Both the Pediatric and Family Health clinics began offering these services in May and will continue on select dates until August.
These services are available to TRICARE Prime and TRICARE standard patients ages 4 to 17, according to Maj. Lucky Mulumba, 325th MDG Family Health Primary Care flight commander.
The remaining dates for these services are:
-
June 20 and 28
-
July 12, 18, 25 and 26
-
August 1, 4, 8 and 9
Although this is an ongoing program, appointments are blocked in the summer time to accommodate military families.
The services are strictly for school and sports physicals only. Any other conditions or concerns will require a separate appointment.
“Having specific appointments for school or sports physicals and trying to get the patients seen early in the summer makes the start of school a little easier for these families,” said Maj. Laura Wolfe, 325th MDG pediatric physician.
The medical group urges families in need of these services to address the matter as soon as possible.
“Anyone starting a new school, such as preschool or kindergarten, changing from middle to high school, or playing a sport will likely require a physical for the next year,” said Wolfe. “Please remember to book early to ensure you are able to be seen before school starts.”
Physicals are valid for one calendar year so children who have had a recent physical do not need to schedule an appointment. Paperwork can be dropped off at the front desk of the child’s assigned clinic.
