TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- With summer coming to a close, the new school year is almost in session. Parents, teachers and faculty members are preparing for a successful school year for their students starting Thursday, Aug. 17, 2017.
“I look forward to seeing all the new Thunderbird faces as well as returning ones and learning from them each day,” said Susan Ross, Tyndall Elementary principle.
Registration is the first step to prepare for this upcoming school year.
To enroll your student at Tyndall Elementary, the following documents are required: the birth certificate for age verification, your child’s current report card from their previous school stating a promotion or retention status for the school year, as well as the address and fax number so the school can request additional records (if applicable), two proofs of residency (active duty orders with the child’s name listed on them will work as proofs of residency as well), child’s social security card, registering parent or guardian’s driver’s license (Military IDs cannot be accepted), physical exam and Florida immunization record (Florida Form 680).
Following registration, orientation will help students and parents become more familiar with school expectations and will help to ease the stress of first-day jitters.
“Attending orientation is important because it will ease the anxiety for students meeting their teacher and knowing where their classroom is prior to the first day of school,” said Tina Martindale, a Tyndall Elementary first grade teacher. “This is also the time to find out about your child’s classroom such as student expectations, discipline plan, schedule and answer questions you may have.”
Tyndall Elementary School offers orientation for pre-kindergarten to fifth grade.

At Tyndall, we are a community of learners and strive for academic success for all students.”
