TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Tyndall First Sergeants Group is initiating a new program, Ride-For-Life, to combat incidents of Airmen driving while under the influence of alcohol.
The goal of this program is to reduce the amount of DUI infractions, which will help to prevent death, injury and legal troubles associated with DUI’s.
The program provides Airmen with additional resources to help them safely return to their local residence. As an alternative to the pre-existing program, Airmen Against Drunk Driving, two local taxi companies will provide Tyndall military members free rides home if they are unable to safely drive themselves.
“Tyndall Air Force Base has worked with a couple of local taxi companies to set up billing accounts,” said Master Sgt. Scott Oberg, a first sergeant with the 325th Fighter Wing. “If a member needs a ride home, they can contact either company and the bill will be sent to the Tyndall First Sergeants.”
The two taxi companies participating in this new program are:
In addition, key tags for the new program have been made and are available to all Airmen through any Tyndall first sergeant. The key tags include contact information about AADD and the two participating taxi companies.
