When it comes to professional development, there are no shortage of options for Airman. But there is only one organization with accomplishments as old as the Air Force itself.

That organization is the Air Force Association. No other group has done more for Airmen than the AFA and here’s some history to prove it:

  • 1946 - The AFA led the efforts in establishing the U.S. Air Force as a separate branch of the military.
  • 1956 - Created the Outstanding Airman of the Year program.
  • 1964 - Initiated the effort in creating the Chief Master Sergeant of the Air Force.
  • 1967 - Spurred the accreditation of the Community College of the Air Force.
  • 2006 - Coordinated the creation and management of the Air Force Memorial.
  • 2013 - Created the Wounded Airman Program.

The AFA’s mission is to educate, advocate and support Airmen and their families through a variety of programs and policies. We’re officially recognized by the Chief of Staff as the preeminent professional development organization for all Airman both officer and enlisted.

After a 5 year hiatus, I am pleased to announce the local voice for the AFA is back on the map. The Tyndall AFA is looking for members to fill a number of critical billets, such as Vice President of Social Media, Vice President of Government Affairs, and Vice President of Membership.

The Tyndall Air Force Association is a 501c3 non-profit organization which is open to all Americans who believe in the importance of a dominant Air Force.
