With the holiday season in full swing, the 325th Force Support Squadron is spinning up six festive events.

“We want to keep the morale on base at an all-time high,” said Tashara Mckinzy-Cole, 325th FSS marketing director. “As a force support squadron, our biggest goal is customer service, and if we aren’t taking care of the base, then we aren’t meeting that goal.”

Upcoming events include:

  • Breakfast with Santa – The event will take place Dec. 9 from 8 - 10 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. - 12:15 p.m. During the occasion, families will be able to get their picture taken with Santa and receive a free toy. There will also be games and activities.

  • Santa 5k – The 5k will take place Dec. 14 at 3:30 p.m.  Those who wish to participate can meet in the Horizons Community center parking lot.

  • Bowling with Grinch – Bowling will be Dec. 16 from 1 - 2 p.m. and 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. The event will cost $7 for adults and $5 for children, which includes bowling, shoes, pizza, ice cream and soda.

  • Turkey shoot – The event will start Dec. 16 at 9 a.m. The cost will be $17 per person for 100 targets. However, the first 30 active-duty members and their families will receive 100 targets for free. There will also be shotgun rentals available for $2.50.

  • Christmas with the Manatees – The event will be Dec. 22 - 23, participants will get the chance to snorkel with manatees during this two-day trip, which will also include fishing and camping. The trip will cost $30. Call Bonita Bay Outdoor Recreation to sign up.

  • Rockin’ Bowl – On New Year’s Eve, Raptor lanes will host a Rockin’ Bowl party from 8 p.m. - 1 a.m. For only $10 per person, guests will be able to bowl during that time and receive food, snacks, and a champagne toast. There will also be prize drawings every hour.

“Speaking from experience, as a spouse and not always having a connection to my family, for Airmen who are away from their family, these events give them the chance to go out, have fun and connect with other Airmen,” Mckinzy-Cole said. “They will get the opportunity to be friendly, have some competition and create memories while they are here.”
