TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Team Tyndall leadership attended the Bay Chamber of Commerce
Military Affairs Committee’s passing of the gavel ceremony Jan. 9, 2018.
Tyndall representatives bid farewell to Robert Carroll, 2017
MAC chairman, and welcomed Claire Sherman as the new MAC chairman for 2018.
“It is an honor to take the lead of the Military Affairs
Committee,” Sherman said. “Tyndall Air Force Base plays a vital role in our
community, not only economically, but also through their individual community
involvement. To be in a position to foster the relationship between Bay County
and one of the largest contributors to our area is humbling.”
The MAC was formed in 1946 to develop understanding, support
and good will between the men and women in uniform and local community. They
are committed to promoting a cooperative working relationship and direct
support to the military installations.
Sherman will maintain chairmanship for one year and plans to
continue growing the bond between the local community and military.
“Our local military bases and members, and local
community is what makes Panama City a great place to live,” Sherman said. “I
look forward to furthering the relationship between Bay County and Tyndall Air
Force Base.”
