The 325th Medical Group’s renovation continues as they push toward a medical mall concept aimed at improving patient flow, while enhancing convenience and ambience of clinical spaces to better serve their customers.

The $54 million project will overhaul nearly every aspect of the medical clinic, including complete new layouts of all three floors and all of the group’s departments. This will also include moving Mental Health into the main building and the addition of a state-of-the-art veterinarian clinic behind the main building.

“Right now we are in phase one,” said Mike Palase, 325th MDG facility manager. “We are expecting to be completed in June of 2019. We are currently working on progressive collapse upgrades in the entire building, building the new dental clinic, education and training section, pharmacy, mental health and much more.”

Approximately 120 contracted employees are renovating the facility, working everything from electrical, plumbing, sheetrock, framework and many more pieces of the construction puzzle.

“We will also be constructing a covered area in the drop-off location at the front of the building,” Palase said. “Right now, that section is open to the elements, but the new canopy will keep them covered as they enter the facility.”

The 325th MDG is asking for patience as they work to modernize their facilities to improve overall efficiency.

“We are fully operational during this. The only interruption in service is when we actually move clinics, but we try to do that over the weekends to ensure little to no disruption of service,” Palase said.  “Patient centered care is absolutely our focus.

“We are excited for the modernization of the facility,” Palase added. “We are making better use of the space, moving from the old hospital chasee to the new medical mall concept. Everyone is really excited for the new!”
