The Air Force Assistance Fund will begin their 45th annual fundraising campaign with a free kick-off event in the Oasis Sports Lounge at the Horizons Community Center March 26, 2018.

The event will have a free lunch buffet for the first 50 people to arrive and donate to the AFAF. The campaign will be conducted for six consecutive weeks from March 26 to May 4, 2018.

“As we prepare to launch this year’s campaign, we turn once again, to our fellow Airmen for help,” said General L. Goldfein, U.S. Air Force chief of staff, in a memorandum written on the campaign. “These charities can only continue supporting us when we need them if we support them when we are able to give. As you consider where you will send your donation dollars in 2018, we ask you to continue our long tradition of taking care of our own by giving to these worthy charities. We remain grateful for your service and are honored to be on your wing.”

The AFAF Campaign is an annual initiative to provide funds for four affiliate charities. The General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, Air Force Enlisted Village, Air Force Village Charitable Foundation and the Air Force Aid Society. Each charity is dedicated to taking care of Air Force veterans or their dependents in some fashion, whether it be by providing housing or financial assistance. These charities rely on the generosity of Airmen who are willing to donate.

Donations can be given on an individual or unit basis and the unit with the most donations will be recognized as a top performer for the fundraising campaign.
