The Berg-Liles Dining Facility will be closed beginning April 1, 2018 for renovations.

During this closure, the Airmen (ESM holders) will be eating at the Horizons Community Center.

“The club will provide our menu options as well as some of their own menu,” said Capt. Jazmine Hood, 325th Force Support Squadron sustainment flight commander. “It's in close proximity to the dorms and will be just as convenient as the Berg-Liles location. The Horizons will be the primary feeding venue for our dormitory residents seven days a week.”

Airmen will also have an alternative option on the flightline with the Raptor Quick Turn.

“[Raptor Quick Turn] will be open for breakfast, lunch, dinner and midnight meals Monday through Friday,” Hood explained. “[To use your meal card,] Airmen will sign in at Horizons, at the counter next to Ballroom A, where they will provide instructions on where to proceed for their meals.”

Below are the meal times for each facility:

 Horizons Community Center

 Monday through Friday

Breakfast - 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Lunch - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dinner - 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 Weekend

Brunch - 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Lunch - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Dinner - 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 Raptor Quick Turn

Breakfast - 6 a.m. to 8 a.m.

Lunch - 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Dinner - 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Midnight - 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Although Horizon’s will be taking the place of Berg-Liles Dining Facility, Airmen on a temporary duty assignment to Tyndall will still be required to use cash.

“Personnel on TDY sadly will not be utilizing the Horizons as the DFAC, but can pay cash to eat there as normal,” Hood explained.  “Our flight kitchen will also still be open and also open for breakfast during this time period.” Hood explained.

Hood went on to ensure that normal services at Horizons will not be noticeably affected.

“The Horizons club has hired on some of the contractors that worked at the DFAC, this will allow smooth and efficient service,” she said. “Additionally, there will still be one military personnel member overseeing each meal period.”

As the DFAC personnel prepare for the new change, they note that the renovations are to improve the quality of life for Airmen and their families.
