Today Tyndall Air Force Base officials ordered the evacuation of aircraft as a precautionary measure as a result of Hurricane Michael. At this time, evacuation of all base personnel has not been ordered. A HURCON 3 level warning means the hurricane has become a potential threat to Tyndall, with destructive winds of 45 mph could arrive within 48 hours.

Tyndall members should take the following steps:

1. Ensure you have completed all steps/precautions listed for HURCON 3.
2. Prepare home for hurricane.
3. Be prepared to evacuate.

The aircraft will reposition to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and Fort Worth Alliance Airport, Texas. Evacuated aircraft and designated personnel will return when the storm danger has passed.
