Air Force Family Child Care Hurricane Michael Relief Program Published Oct. 27, 2018 325th Fighter Wing Public Affiars TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Tyndall active, guard and reserve members in active status, DoD and nonappropriated fund civilians and their families displaced by Hurricane Michael are eligible to use the Air Force Family Child Care (FCC) Hurricane Michael Relief Program at no cost. Military members do not need to be with their families at the safe haven location in order to participate. FCC provides in-home child-care services on or off base, certified by the installation's Mission Support Group commander. The program will provide free child care for children and youth ages 2 weeks to 12 years old in a FCC home, if available at their safe haven location, until Dec. 1, 2018. This program is for all families whether previously enrolled in a Tyndall Child and Youth Program or not. Special enrollment exemptions apply for families missing the required enrollment records. Contact your safe haven family child care coordinator (POC list below) to enroll. If your safe haven location is not on or near an Air Force installation, please call Air Force Services Activity's Ms. Dawn Garcia at 210-395-7147 or Ms. Stacey Middleton at 210-395-7520 for questions about the program. If Tyndall families require full time child care to go to work, they should register with www.militarychildcare.com to determine if space is available at the safe haven CDC or School Age Care programs. If space is not available, families should contact Child Care Aware of America to participate in Military Child Care in Your Neighborhood at: http://usa.childcareaware.org/fee-assistancerespite/military-families/air-force/fee-assistance/ or call 1-800-424-2246. If Tyndall families require drop-in or hourly child care, they should contact the safe havens' FCC Coordinator (see list below for contact information) to determine where hourly spaces are available; CDC, SAC, or FCC. Note: Hourly spaces in FCC are at no cost to the displaced family until Dec. 1, 2018. The contact list for various bases is attached. For further information, contact Patti Mehrens, 210-395-7492, or Dawn Garcia, 210-395-7157 at the Air Force Services Activity.
