To accommodate recovery efforts, access control points to the installation will see significant changes starting at 6 a.m. Nov. 26. The updates include:
-Sabre Gate: Open from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., daily.
-Only the housing areas will be accessible through this gate. All Housing area residents, moving companies, BBC workers, construction workers, etc., will use the Sabre Gate if trying to get to the housing area of base.
-Individuals can come and go as required during the gate hours. If you need to access the south side main base or north side main base, you will be required to show a DOD ID, common access card, or Tyndall DBIDS card and enter through Airey or Tyndall Gate.
-Tyndall School Gate (accessed through Tyndall Elementary Drive): The Tyndall School Gate will be open Monday-Friday from the hours of 6:30-8:30 a.m. for all DOD ID, CAC, and Tyndall DBIDS card holders.
Commercial Gate:
-Open from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week. All oversized vehicles will stage along the U.S. Highway 98 access road and enter through the Commercial Gate.
-Oversized vehicles will be searched at the Commercial Gate and will be directed to utilize North Louisiana Gate for access to north side main base.
North Side Gates:
-Tyndall Gate: 24/7 access to the north side of base.
-All Contractors on the Tyndall AFB EAL will enter through Tyndall Gate if in regular sized vehicles for North Side main base.
-North Louisiana Gate: Open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. for north side inbound traffic, only for DOD ID, CAC, and Tyndall DBIDS card holders.
