The aircrew assigned to an F-22 Raptor perform maintenance checks Nov. 6, 2019, at Tyndall Air Force Base, Florida. The pilot, airframe, and maintenance team supported Checkered Flag 20-1, which is a large-scale aerial exercise designed to integrate fourth and fifth-generation airframes to enhance mobility, deployment, and employment capabilities of aviators and maintainers. The exercise involved airpower assets, more than 50 aircraft, and support personnel from multiple installations. Aircraft and pilots participated in a Weapons System Evaluation Program and are evaluated on air-to-air and air-to-ground operations, providing a unique training environment.
