POV access restricted on flightline Published July 3, 2013 By 2nd Lt. Andrea Valencia 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- No privately owned vehicles will be authorized between Hangar 3 and Hangar 4 starting July 9 without the proper passes. The entry control point there has been moved back to the barriers on Florida Avenue due to safety concerns with aircraft taxiing and towing operations in the hangars. Only government vehicles operated by trained personnel will be allowed through the entry control point. If POV access is need as part of work related activities they will need to be issued a pass by Airfield Management ahead of time. Access to the Raptor Quick Turn, base ops and other offices will be affected. All vehicles will be required to park in lots along Florida Ave. The 325th Civil Engineer Squadron will be putting a sign up next to the entry control point across from Hangar 3. This will also be the new foreign object debris check point. "We want to keep vehicle access to these areas to an absolute minimum," said Senior Master Sgt. Jeffery Stockwell, 325th Operations Support Squadron airfield manager. "This not only includes this area, but all hangar access areas." "There will be a two week grace period so we can get the word out and catch anything we missed during the planning," Stockwell said. "July 23 will be the date where we treat it like any other portion of the airfield." Contact Airfield Management at 283-4244 with any questions.
