Tyndall's Master Sgt. Teresa Meade, 325th Maintenance Operations Squadron, training management section chief, earned the 325th Maintenance Group Education and Training Manager of the Year award during the 2012 Maintenance and Staff Professionals of the Year banquet in Hangar 1 March 15.

The Richmond, Va., native said it was great to receive the award. It is given to the individual for most outstanding performance within the education and training management career field.

"I was very honored to be recognized" she said.

Sergeant Meade has been in the Air Force for more than 12 years and has worked in the maintenance career field throughout her enlistment. Her favorite part about her job is helping new Airmen.

"I really enjoy helping new Airmen develop study techniques and study habits that many haven't learned from their previous education," said Sergeant Meade.

The MPOY banquet recognizes the achievements of the maintenance group and honors maintenance professionals each year.

The original maintenance professional award was established in 1979 to recognize outstanding performance of direct, sortie-producing maintenance specialists. Support, training and staff personnel make vital contributions to effective sortie production. Tyndall recognized these important professionals in their diversified career fields.
