Master Sgt. Donna L. Moses, 325th Maintenance Group weapons standardization superintendent, earned the Capt. Lance P. Sijan Award for Superior Leadership during the 2012 Maintenance and Staff Professionals of the Year banquet in Hangar 1 March 15.

The Maytown, Pa., native said it was humbling to receive the award. The Capt. Lance P. Sijan Award recognizes the accomplishments of officer and enlisted leaders, assigned at wing level and below, who demonstrate the highest qualities of leadership in the performance of their duties and the conduct of their lives.

"I view this as a team award," Sergeant Moses said. "As a senior NCO, we achieve success through the hard work and dedication of our team and it is those technicians I'd like to offer my thanks and gratitude for this great opportunity to represent them."

Sergeant Moses has been in the Air Force for 20 years and has worked in the maintenance career field throughout her career. Her favorite part about her job is the people she works with.

"I work with the greatest group of professionals and that by far is the best and makes my job easy," said Sergeant Moses.

The MPOY banquet recognizes the achievements of the maintenance group and honors maintenance professionals each year.

The original maintenance professional award was established in 1979 to recognize outstanding performance of direct, sortie-producing maintenance specialists. Support, training and staff personnel make vital contributions to effective sortie production. Tyndall recognized these important professionals in their diversified career fields.
