Tyndall's Air Force Assistance Fund campaign season will commence at 7:30 a.m. with its annual kick-off breakfast March 25 at the Heritage Club.

The AFAF was established to provide an annual effort to raise funds for the charitable affiliates that provide support to the Air Force family (active duty, retirees, Reservists, Guard and their dependents, including surviving spouses) in need.

This year's goal is 100 percent contact, ensuring everyone is aware of the campaign and has the opportunity to donate to the AFAF organizations.

"These organizations are the Air Force Villages, Inc.; the Air Force Aid Society, Inc.; the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation; and the Air Force Enlisted Village, Inc.," said Senior Master Sgt. Rosene Goods, 325th Fighter Wing Judge Advocate and AFAF assistant installation project officer.

These organizations help Air Force people with aid in an emergency, with educational needs or to have a secure retirement home for widows or widowers of Air Force members in need of financial assistance.

"AFAF gives us all another opportunity to help our fellow wingmen when they need it most," said Sergeant Rosene Goods. "The contributions made to the fund help Airmen in so many ways."

Both active duty and retired Airmen can contribute to any of the four official Air Force charitable organizations during the AFAF campaign. Contributions can be collected through a payroll deduction allotments or cash. The allotments would begin June 1 from military pay.

The 2013 AFAF campaign will be conducted at active duty Air Force Installations through May 3.
