Team Tyndall recognized Mrs. Stacey York, spouse of Lt. Col. Robert York, as the Spouse of the Year during the Annual Awards Banquet Feb. 20.

Mrs. York currently serves as a key spouse mentor for the 325th Medical Group and president of the Tyndall Officers Spouses Club.

She is also a member of the Thrift Shop Advisory Council and a weekly volunteer at the Tyndall Thrift Shop.
"It is, of course, an honor to be named Team Tyndall Spouse of the Year," she said. "I, by no means, expected to receive this award. I don't volunteer for the recognition; I do it because I'm passionate about giving back to the communities that support my family. I am surrounded by so many fantastically talented spouses that support, encourage, and mentor me; these people are equally deserving of recognition for their efforts, as I couldn't do it without them."

In addition, she is the Tyndall Officers Spouses Club programs chair and parliamentarian for the last five months and executed social activities, including 40 spouse networking events.

"Stacey passionately strives to actively support, enhance, and improve her community," said Colonel York. "She plans to continue serving military members and their families through volunteer efforts or employment focused toward such. She gives of her time in any other capacity that may be needed."
She volunteers for parent-teacher organization events and classroom needs at Tyndall Elementary School. She has coached soccer and baseball for Tyndall Youth Programs. Mrs. York also serves on the Tyndall Private Organization Council.

"My husband and I are both better able to serve Team Tyndall because we support each other in what we do and believe in leaving a place better than we found it," Mrs. York said.
