Air Combat Command recently recognized the 325th Fighter Wing Chapel with two 2012 Chaplain Corps Annual Awards.

The chapel earned the Small Chapel Organization Award and Ms. Mellisa Morris earned the Outstanding Chapel Civilian Award.

"Our relentless drive to meet the spiritual needs of our Airmen contributed to this victory," said Lt. Col. Robert Ward, 325th FW chaplain. "Also, it was the creation of a Singles Retreat process and the execution of our highly successful MarriageCare retreats. But, most of all, it is the coming together of talented and 'called' religious professionals who love God and love people."

He is also proud of Ms. Morris.

"She is an angel that God sent to Tyndall to provide continuity and spiritual care to this community and she does so with grace," Chaplain Ward said. "Uniformed staff come and go, but she remains and everyone who knows her loves her. She is one of the nicest people I know and she serves God's people at Tyndall as her ministry."

Although Chaplain Ward is scheduled to leave in a few months, he said he is thankful for his time at Tyndall and the unit he has worked alongside.

"I have had the absolute best time as the wing chaplain at Tyndall," he said. "I have been here for two and a half years and I PCS this summer. This has been the best assignment to date; the team I work with and the interdisciplinary relationships with other caring agencies, is second to none."
