The Tyndall Library and the Gulf Coast State College Armed Services Club joined together for a book sale Feb. 1 and 2.

With prices starting as low as 50 cents for paperback bestsellers, potential buyers lined the sidewalks outside the library from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 1 and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 2.

The sale of books patrons have donated to the library will benefit both organizations, said Bill Landry, GCSC Armed Services Club historian.

The club, which is open to anyone, welcomes veterans to college life and performs other community service activities.

"They volunteered to put the sale on," said Shantelle Wilson, Senior Library technician. "It is up to them how much to donate."

The money that is donated to the library through the book sale will go back into the programs available to patrons such as story time, Ms. Wilson said. The book sale is held twice a year.

"We appreciate all donations and support," she said.
