Flu Shot Non-Availability

  • Published
  • 325th Medical Group
As of Jan. 14, the 325th Medical Group exhausted its supply of adult flu shots with the exception of the very few vials reserved for active duty members. No new shipments are expected to arrive this year. The Immunization Clinic has approximately 150 vials of the flu vaccine formulated for the 3 to 35 month old range. Eligible beneficiaries can still get the flu shot at off-base pharmacies. Please call the pharmacies to ensure they are still accepting TRICARE coverage and ask about any possible deductibles before obtaining the shot.

Contact your network pharmacy in advance to inquire about vaccine availability and current vaccination schedules.

Extracted from Express Scripts:

Vaccines administered at your retail pharmacy usually don't require an appointment and use the same effective medications as your physician's office.

Before You Visit the Pharmacy:

· Make sure the pharmacy you use is part of your Express Scripts participating pharmacy network. If you're not sure, use the Find a Pharmacy feature to find out.
· Call the pharmacy to verify their current vaccination schedule, availability, and any age restrictions.

When You Get to the Pharmacy:

· Be sure to present your prescription member ID card or your military ID if you have TRICARE coverage at the time of service.
· Some of the pharmacies below may have an on-site clinic that offers flu vaccines. Be sure to get your vaccine from the pharmacist at the pharmacy.
