In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the Tyndall Black Heritage Committee hosted the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration Jan.18 at the base chapel.

Chairman of the Bay County Chamber of Commerce, Mr. Alfred McCambry, was the guest speaker at the event.

He spoke in front of more than 50 attendees, including First Air Force vice commander, Brig. Gen. Robert J. Beletic, 325th Fighter Wing commander, Col. David E. Graff and 325th FW vice commander, Mark L. O'Laughlin.

His speech asked the question, "Are we where we need to be?" and highlighted segments from Dr. King's speech, "I Have a Dream." The commemoration ended with the attendees singing James W. Johnson's song, "Lift Every Voice and Sing."
