Air Education and Training Command recently recognized the 325th Comptroller Squadron with two annual awards.

The squadron earned the Special Acts and Services Award through the 2012 Financial Management and Comptroller Awards and Senior Master Sgt. April DeReus, 325th CPTS superintendent, was awarded the Chief Master Sgt. Larry P. Gonzales Superintendent of the Year Award.

"I was really proud of the squadron for earning the AETC Special Acts and Services Award because of their efforts as a whole," said Maj. Christopher Carroll, 325th Comptroller Squadron commander. "Our guys were already juggling a busy schedule with the end of fiscal year funding being financially strapped. Add the mix of a transition to a new command in the mix, it is just remarkable how the guys came together as team to ensure the beddown was a success."

"As for the Superintendent of the Year Award, I couldn't think of a better person than April DeReus," said the commander. "She came here with a remarkable drive to take care of her people, which still amazes me every day. Her leadership and dedication to getting the job done is an example for everyone on the wing staff. I am truly the luckiest comptroller commander in the Air Force to have Sergeant DeReus by my side."

Award recipients will go on to compete at the Air Force level.

Note: At the time of the awards, the unit was still an AETC unit. The 325th CPTS will compete within Air Combat Command next year.
