There is no need to be a Mr. Grinch or Ebenezer Scrooge this winter, especially if the holiday season starts off with style.

To kick off the holiday season, Tyndall's Flag Park will host the 2012 Annual Base Tree Lighting at 5 p.m. Dec. 5 at Flag Park.

Santa Claus will be making an appearance to visit with the children. The 325th Fighter Wing commander, Col. David E. Graff, will also be there to welcome in the holiday season.

"Free cookies and hot chocolate will be available by the Christmas lights, while children sing carols and spend time with Santa Claus," said Corey Coleman, 325th Force Support Squadron marketing director.

"The event is a casual evening which gives Team Tyndall a few minutes to pause from the busy day and celebrate the winter season," said Coleman."Bring your whole family to this annual event, which has become a Tyndall favorite."
