Cookie Caper strikes again Published Nov. 1, 2012 By Staff Sgt. Rachelle Elsea 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The Tyndall Officer and Enlisted Spouses Clubs are teaming together for operation Cookie Caper Dec. 3 at the base commissary. Cookie Caper is an annual program designed to make the holiday season a little brighter for the Airmen living in unaccompanied housing who may not have family close by. The club's volunteers spend a couple hours bagging cookies and then distribute them to Airmen living in dormitories. "The purpose of the cookie caper is to deliver a dozen cookies to each Airman living in the dorms," said Mrs. Kimberly McMullen, wife of Brig. Gen. John McMullen, 325th Fighter Wing commander. "This year we have 332 Airmen living in the dorms. The program allows us to show our appreciation and support and adds a little bit of home during the holiday season." Volunteers from all over Tyndall can donate. "People can help by making homemade cookies and dropping them off behind the commissary from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Dec. 3," Mrs. McMullen said. The clubs are also looking for approximately 15 volunteers to help make the trays. "In addition to the volunteers that help collect and wrap cookies, the commissary staff does a great job supporting this project," Mrs. McMullen said. "They provide us with the location and materials to collect and wrap the cookies, the boxes for delivery, and are always helpful the day of the event. We could not do this project without them."
