MTNT Properties, Inc., was awarded a $727,000 contract to build a new flight line kitchen.

The contract was awarded March 2012 and construction began July 2012. The project is scheduled for completion February 2013.

The new Raptor Quick Turn will be a completely new 3000-square foot facility next to Hangar 4. The facility will feature inside and outside seating, a window for call ahead order pick up, as well as a larger kitchen and service area.

"The new kitchen will alleviate some of the congestion caused by the small facility we have now," said 2nd Lt. Maxfield Shea, 325th Force Support Squadron food services officer. "It is going to give us more space to operate and allow us to serve more people."

MTNT project foreman, Rich Reeves, said the company's eight subcontractors have created approximately 50 local jobs.

"We like to subcontract from the local area: they're closer and the price is better," said Mr. Reeves. "But, when you factor in everyone involved, from the company building the materials, to delivering, there are even more people involved."

The company also buys the building materials from the local area, adding to the Panhandle's industry growth.

"The subcontractors are responsible for their own materials, but all are American made and most come from the local area," Mr. Reeves said. "We are held to the Buy American Act, which is part of our contract."

Once the facility is completed it will provide "meals on the go" for maintenance crew, pilots, operational personnel and support staff.
