Airman Spirko proved herself as an outstanding performer at the 325th ACS and 325th Operations Group earning herself the award of Airman of the Quarter, 3rd quarter 2011. "Senior Airmen Spirko is truly among the best," said Staff Sgt. Timothy Burk, 325th ACS standards and evaluations liaison and Airman Spirko's supervisor. "She displays character, leadership, and goes above and beyond the Air Force core values of integrity, service, and excellence". She has piloted and instructed more than 720 simulation training events and was awarded the 2011 Close Control Top Scope Turkey Shoot. "I am honored to even have been nominated for the award," said Airman Spirko. "They don't nominate just anyone. I'm proud to know that what I do does not go unnoticed." Recently, Airman Spirko found out she will no longer be able to work as a pilot simulator. The job now requires pilot simulators to be able to maintain flying status, which she is not medically cleared for. Therefore on June 25, she will attend technical training school at Maxwell AFB, Ala. and continue a career as a paralegal. She will be reassigned to Goodfellow AFB, Texas after graduation in August. "It's a great accomplishment to have earned this award," said Airman Spirko. "Although I will no longer be working in the same career field, I take pride in any work I do and will continue to do the best I can do with what I've been given to work with."
