The 325th Fighter Wing commander learned the duties of a 325th Mission Support Group Airman May 4, as part of the Airman's Shadow program.

Brigadier Gen. John McMullen, 325th FW commander, shadowed Senior Airman Shayna Myers, 325th Communication Squadron client systems technician, while she performed her daily responsibilities at the 325th MSG.

Airman Myers showed the commander her daily duties as a client systems technician.

"During the shadow we worked two ticket orders," said Airman Myers. "The first one was a quick fix, a simple broken phone. The second one I took him through the steps of tracing the line back to the main communications closet and performing basic trouble-shooting steps to get the line up and running."

She organizes, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs standard voice, data, video network, and cryptographic client devices in fixed and deployed environments.

"Airman Myers is a truly motivated Airman who is always looking for ways to improve," said Staff Sgt. Gilberto Rodriguez, Senior Airman Myers' supervisor. "Her exceptional communication skills, both orally and written, demonstrates superior job knowledge and leadership potential."

"Her tireless work ethic and go-getter attitude have proven her capable of promptly tackling the most demanding tasks flawlessly," added Sergeant Rodriguez.

During the commander's shadow, she was able to exhibit her hard working character.

"I hope I gave him a good look into the wire backbone of the base," said Airman Myers. "It was great experience, and it was great to see the wing commander down on an Airman level."

The Airman's Shadow program is a 325th FW commander program designed to recognize 325th FW personnel. The program provides an opportunity for the commander to meet with the Airmen and get a first-hand look at what Tyndall Airmen are doing.
