The six-week campaign for the Air Force Assistance Fund ended May 4.

The AFAF was established to provide an annual effort to raise funds for the charitable affiliates that provide support to the Air Force family (active duty, retirees, reservists, guard and their dependents, including surviving spouses) in need.

"Tyndall achieved its goal to make 100 percent contact with every Airman on base during week five of the campaign," said Captain Arthur Aragon, wing project officer for AFAF.

Tyndall held its Annual Air Force Assistance Fund Golf Tournament to help raise funds, which occurred April 27.

"Approximately $1,900 was raised during the event," added Captain Aragon, "more than a 35 percent increase in funds compared to last year."

Air Education and Training Command set Tyndall's goal at $51,191, and Tyndall exceeded it by more than $1,500.

The proceeds from this year's AFAF campaign will be donated to the four AFAF beneficiaries, the Air Force Villages, The General and Mrs. Curtis Foundation, Air Force Aid Society, and the Air Force Enlisted Village.
