Master Sgt. Lisa Gore, 325th Operations Support Squadron weather operations flight chief, was recently recognized as the 2011 Air Force Weather Senior Noncommissioned Officer of the Year.

During the 2011 Air Education and Training Command compliance inspection, Sergeant Gore led her flight to an "Excellent" rating. She supported approximately 4,400 sorties totaling more than 5,000 hours.

"I was greatly honored and of course thrilled to have been chosen for this award," said Sergeant Gore.

She expertly led weather operations for an eight member flight, additionally crafting approximately 1,200 quality weather forecasts throughout 2011.

As flight chief, her duties included her proactively managing a $33,000 flight budget. She prioritized mission requirements and efficiently fulfilled the Air Dominance training function.

She also provided key weather data to the F-22 Raptor mishap investigation board, which is vital for safely executing missions.

Additionally, Memorial Day weekend, 2011, the Florida Panhandle along with neighboring states were impacted by Tropical Storm Lee, the 12th named storm of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season.

Master Sgt. Gore led weather support for Tropical Storm Lee. Her flight provided wing leadership accurate weather forecasts including a one-hour notice for a nearby tornado.

"I am extremely lucky to have the opportunity to lead a phenomenal flight," said Sergeant Gore. "This award is a direct reflection of the entire flight's hard work."
