The 325th Force Support Squadron marketing director instructed the class 'Web 2.0 at the Base Level' at the 2012 Air Education and Training Command Symposium Jan. 12 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas.

Corey Coleman, 325th FSS marketing director, instructed a lively seminar on blogs, Facebook, Flickr, Twitter, and other forms of social media and their effectiveness the tools can have at a base level.

"My class was a little less formal then some of these others from what I hear, but I think people went away knowing that ignoring social media and other new technologies is not an option for bases today," said Coleman.

The seminar discussed the benefits of communicating with Airmen using these platforms, as well as, informing how they worked and how to determine which tools would be best for certain bases.

"My goal was to introduce the class participants to Web 2.0 by discussing how Tyndall FSS is using these tools," she added. "I also wanted to give some direction as to where they could learn what instructions the Air Force has available concerning these new media."
