Homemade cookies are needed for Tyndall Air Force Base's Annual Cookie Drive Published Dec. 8, 2011 By Airman 1st Class Christopher Reel 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Donations will be collected 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Dec. 12 at the loading docks behind the Tyndall Air Force Base Commissary. The goal of the program is to package and distribute 350 dozen cookies to all of the Air¬men living in the dormitories. The base-wide community project is supported by many base agencies such as the First Sergeants Council and the Officer and Enlisted Spouses Clubs. It also receives support from the Tyndall AFB Commissary. This year's program is organ¬ized by Kimberly McMullen, Offi¬cer Spouses Club honorary president and wife of Brig. Gen. John McMullen, 325th Fighter Wing commander. "We have approximately 350 Airmen living in the dorms. This program allows us to show our appreciation and support, plus it adds a little bit of home this holiday season," she said. "The commissary staff does an outstanding job to support this project," Mrs. McMullen said. "They provide us with the loca¬tion and materials to collect and wrap the cookies. We couldn't do it without them, as well as the First Sergeant's Council." The First Sergeants will deliver the cookies to the Airmen's rooms. Master Sgt. Bruce Hodge, 325th Fighter Wing Communications Squadron first sergeant, is partici¬pating in the cookie drive and is the cookie-drive representative for the Tyndall AFB First Sergeants' Council. "This is our way to spread cheer to those Airmen that have to be away from their families this holiday season," the first sergeant said. "It also gives the Shirts another opportunity to visit the dorms and see our Airmen." For more information, email tyndallcookiecaper@yahoo.com.
