Tyndall Airman awarded CE honors at AETC Published Oct. 25, 2011 By Staff Sgt. Kirsten Wicker 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- A Tyndall Airman from the 325th Civil Engineer Squadron was recently awarded the Maj. Gen. Eugene A. Lupia Award for excellence in civil engineering at Air Education and Training Command. Senior Airman Guadalupe Corona, 325th CES, is an explosive ordinance disposal technician. He has served in the U.S. Air Force for four and half years and has been deployed twice. "I have never won an award like this at all," said Airman Corona. "So an award of this magnitude is awesome." The award is given annually by AETC. Airman Corona holds the honor for fiscal year 2012. "I enjoy the recognition, but this is for all EOD Airmen at home and deployed," he said. Airman Corona was notified he had received the award on Oct. 21. "I was so excited to hear," Airman Corona said. "First thing I did was call my wife to tell her and she was very happy for me." Additionally, the 325th CES family housing flight received the Brig. Gen. Michael A. McAuliffe Award for excellence in family housing and the Gen. Thomas D. White Restoration Award for individual and team excellence within the squadron.
