One hundred forty-seven Community College of the Air Force associate degrees were awarded to Tyndall members during a commencement ceremony April 28 at Horizons Community Center. Though all graduates were honored, not all were able to attend due to deployments, permanent changes of station, retirements or separations.

During the ceremony, four Pitsenbarger Awards were presented by the Air Force Association to top CCAF graduates who are also continuing their education in pursuit of a bachelor degree. The award winners were:

Senior Airman Phillip Barr, 325th Civil Engineer Squadron

Staff Sgt. Leighann McLean, 325th Medical Operations Squadron

Tech. Sgt. Gregory Sackett, 325th Maintenance Group

Master Sgt. Anthony Roland, Airey NCO Academy

The CCAF degrees were presented by Brig. Gen. James Browne, 325th Fighter Wing commander and Chief Master Sgt. Jackie Green, 325th FW command chief. Chief Green was also the guest speaker. Click here for a full listing of students.

The CCAF is the largest accredited community college in the United States. To date, the college has awarded more than 400,000 degrees since its inception in 1972.
