Melanie Holliday 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Tyndall Air Force Base has released its economic impact statement totaling nearly $654 million for fiscal year 2010. The annual report is published by the 325th Comptroller Squadron's financial analysis flight as a means to inform federal, state and local officials, business leaders and the general public on the impact of Tyndall's presence in Bay County. "The pamphlet portrays the economic significance of Tyndall Air Force Base to the area," said Brig. Gen. James S. Browne, 325th Fighter Wing commander, "We truly cannot accomplish our mission without the support of the Bay County citizens and the surrounding areas." The U.S. Department of Commerce developed standard factors to aid in calculating the total economic impact. Some of the factors include expenditures for contracts, payroll effects, services, equipment, materials, construction and other procurement actions on the economy of the region.
