As part of the Commander's Shadow program, the 325th Fighter Wing Commander learned the duties of a 325th Mission Support Group Airman March 8.

Brigadier Gen. James Browne, 325th FW commander, shadowed Airman 1st Class Aldrich Poblete, 325th MSG store room journeyman, while he performed his daily responsibilities at the Berg-Liles Dining Facility.

"It is not every day you get to share your job with your wing commander," said Airman Poblete. "It was a humbling experience and a great privilege. I appreciate that he takes time to see what happens internally with the base."

Airman Poblete showed the commander around the store room and assisted the commander in the preparation of a menu item for lunch.

"In the store room (the wing commander) was shown how to select and place orders and how items are regulated," said Airman Poblete. "He actually got to place an order with Pepsi. He then got to make and sell his own Mongolian Barbecue."

Airman Poblete orders, receives, secures, and organizes food products for the base dining facility. He also ensures products are properly linked and matched in the Corporate Food System and in the Air Force Food Recipe System. In addition, Airman Poblete prepares menu items and monitors a $3.5 million mess attendant contract.

"He is an extremely motivated Airman," said Master Sgt. Ed Flanders, Airman Poblete's supervisor and nominator for the program. "He is very energetic and eager to learn. He is very involved here at Tyndall as well as the local community."

The Commander's Shadow program provides an opportunity for the commander to meet with the Airmen and expierence a first-hand look at their mission.
