Tyndall controls burn Saturday Published Jan. 7, 2011 325th FIghter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- Weather permitting, a controlled burn is scheduled for Saturday, 8 January 2011, on Tyndall Air Force Base property. The 325th Fighter Wing Natural Resources Flight will be conducting a controlled burn of more than 709 acres. Smoke produced from these burns will be visible. These controlled fires reduce the likelihood of wildfires, and help promote regeneration of low-lying plants and brush that require regularly-scheduled burns in order to grow. Endemic wildlife also benefits from the reduction of overgrowth.
