Three Stripes for Exceptional Performance were awarded to Airmen Dec. 8 on Tyndall.

STEP promotions are an annual program that allows for leadership to select a number of Airmen with exceptional potential for promotion. Only staff sergeant through master sergeant are eligible for submission.

"It is a way for wing commanders to promote their outstanding enlisted on the spot," said Chief Master Sgt. Jackie Greene, 325th Fighter Wing command chief. "It is exciting for the Airmen and their leadership to be recognized under the program."

Two Airmen were promoted to technical sergeant.

"I was very shocked and surprised to receive this honor," said Tech. Sgt. Jeffrey Stout, 325th Maintenance Operations Squadron quality assurance technician. "I am very lucky to have supportive leadership who have stood behind me one hundred percent."

Tech. Sgt. Joseph Gutshall, 325th Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordinance disposal craftsman, was chosen for STEP promotion as well.

Sergeant Gutshall is currently deployed for the fourth time in his career and is expected to return to Tyndall in June.

The final Airman chosen for promotion was Master Sgt. Rachael Dunn, 325th Aerospace Medicine Squadron non-commissioned officer in charge of physical standards.

"I am very excited, this is something I have been waiting on for years," said Sergeant Dunn. "It has been a major goal of mine. I am very blessed and thankful for the stripe."
