Brigadier Gen. James Browne, 325th Fighter Wing commander, made a speech and then gathered with some of the Tyndall children to switch on the lights to the tree, opening the ceremony. "The ceremony was wonderful," said Michelle Noziol, Tyndall Youth Center school-age program assistant. "It was nice to see all of the children smiling." Ms. Naziol and Stacie Sanders, another Tyndall Youth Center school-age program assistant, led the children's singing group in singing seven carols for the crowd and to welcome in Santa Claus. "I really enjoyed the participation and excitement from the children," said Ms. Sanders. Senior Master Sgt. Travis Fritts, 325th Contracting Squadron, acted as master of ceremony and 2nd Lt. Matthew Wilson, 325th Civil Engineer Squadron, began the ceremony with singing the classic carol 'Oh Holy Night.' "I've been singing since I was 16, it's something I love to do," said Lieutenant Wilson. "I'm glad I got the opportunity to sing for all the children getting ready to see Santa." The ceremony included holiday cookies, hot cocoa and a visit from a special guest, Santa Claus. Following the ceremony, children lined up one by one to sit on Santa's lap and tell him their holiday wishes. The tree will remain lit through the holidays to wish Team Tyndall a joyful season.
