After six weeks, the 2010 Combined Federal Campaign ended Nov. 19 and Tyndall has met its contact goal of 100 percent.

"With the economy the way it is, we still have a lot of caring and giving employees," said Master Sgt. Jennifer Jones, 325th Maintenance Squadron munitions accountable systems officer and base co-project officer for CFC. "Statistically, based off the numbers we had last year, we did better this year, raising nearly $172,000."

Fundraising events were important tools to help the base get to this dollar amount.

"This year we held the first ever Tyndall Charities Fair that served as an awareness campaign," said Sergeant Jones. "Airmen also raised $2,547 from the CFC golf tournament; we had a 5K Domestic Violence Awareness Run, raised $739 for CFC and $739 for family advocacy; and the Tynman Dualathalon and triathalon raised $1400 for the CFC," she said.

In addition, the CFC Bowling Tournament made $149, she added.

"It's not too late to donate," said Sergeant Jones. "But only until the second week of December and the window for donations will close."

Personnel can donate by contacting Sergeant Jones. She will set up a time to pick up the donation or individuals can stop by her office.

Brig. Gen. James S. Browne, 325th Fighter Wing commander, was pleased with the outcome of the campaign.

"Our Airmen and civilians at this base have incredible compassion," he said. "You have met our 2010 goals. Many people will be very grateful for your contributions and will benefit tremendously from your generosity."

Later this month, the base will recognize CFC key workers with certificates and a letter of appreciation signed by United Way of Northwest Florida president Bryan Taylor and General Browne. Capt. Monica Gomez-Arenas, 325th Medical Support Squadron, was also a project officer on the campaign with Sergeant Jones.
