Tyndall Air Force Base sponsored the 2010 Bay County Military Affairs Committee Golf Tournament Nov. 5.

The annual tournament, hosted at the Pelican Point golf course, pairs military members and members of the community together to play a round of golf.

While more than 65 participants and volunteers enjoyed themselves playing golf, the event also featured door prizes, food and drinks.

The format was a modified scramble, golfers played best ball with four designated driver holes and four total team putt out holes.

"It was a beautiful day to play golf," said Harry Briits, 325th Civil Engineer Squadron Saber Element Chief. "We all really enjoyed ourselves and the tournament was run well."

The winning team was comprised of Harry Britts and Dan Surber, who represented Tyndall as well as Christopher Riley and Steve Allred who represented the community. The group won with a score of 85.

"The tournament was a great success," said Christi Bird, 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs Chief of Community Relations. "The goal of events like this is to integrate the military members with the community. It gives everyone an opportunity to learn more about the mission and business world."
