Commander shadows F-22 lead crew member Published Nov. 8, 2010 By Senior Airman Veronica McMahon 325th Fighter Wing Public Affairs TYNDALL AIR FORCE, Fla. -- The 325th Fighter Wing commander experienced the daily operations of a lead crew member Nov. 4, as part of the Commander's Shadow Program. Brigadier Gen. James Browne, 325th Fighter Wing commander, shadowed Airman 1st Class Danyel Alvarez, 325th Maintenance Group lead crew member, while he conducted his daily duties on an F-22 Raptor. "It was great to have the commander shadow me at work," said Airman Alvarez. "I really enjoyed the experience. We loaded an AIM-120-missle." Airman Alvarez is a lead crew member. The lead crews are assigned to the Weapons Standardization and assist the Loading Standardization Crew in training, evaluating and certifying unit load crews in safe and reliable munitions loading procedures. They document, initiate and maintain the database to reflect qualification, certification status and history of assigned load crew. "He is a true go-getter who is always looking for ways to improve the mission and puts safety first while performing load evaluation duties," said Staff Sgt. Christopher West, 325th MXG F-22 lead crew chief and Airman Alvarez's supervisor. "Airman Alvarez exemplifies the Core Values and is truly tops amongst his peers." Airman Alvarez hails from El Paso, Texas and has served two years in the military.
