More than 50 daughters dressed up like princesses and joined their fathers at the Heritage Club for the Daddy Daughter Dance June 17, which included dinner, crafts and dancing.

Celebrated the week of Father's Day, this annual event is a time for daughters to have a night out with their dads.

"We've expanded the space because this event has gotten so large over the past three years," said Sylvia Bowles, 325th Force Support Squadron Tyndall Club manager. "I've seen some of the same returning fathers and daughters three years in a row. It's great to see all the daughters in their beautiful dresses."

As the father and daughter pairs entered the room they were given corsages. An announcer called each name as they approached the dance floor. Many of the daughters who attended the dance made tiaras and wands at the arts and crafts table to wear throughout the evening.

One of the daughters, four-year-old Kailey Medina, daughter of Tech. Sgt. Angel Medina, 325th Security Forces Squadron Military Working Dog trainer, said she felt like Cinderella for the dance with her dad.

After a buffet dinner was served, the dancing began. Fathers and daughters gathered on the dance floor and learned various dances like the waltz.

"While my girls are visiting from Georgia we couldn't pass up attending the Daddy Daughter Dance," said Capt. William Kerr, Air Force Civil Engineer Support Agency contracting officer.

After dance lessons, the evening ended with a last dance and ice cream sundaes.
